FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    1.    What is Totally Tennyson?

Totally Tennyson started out as an '80s-themed pub crawl style street party celebrating all things '80s. A few years ago we decided to broaden our horizons and incorporate the decades of the 1970s and 1990s. This year we have decided to spice things up and have changed our decades again.  We are embracing the '80s, '90s and 2000s!  Get your boy band gear on and enjoy a drink at destinations along the street.  Rub elbows with Richard Simmons and Madonna and feel good knowing you are supporting NW Denver schools. A cash costume contest and an evening performance by the Ultimate '80s Experience, 6 Million Dollar Band culminates at the Oriental Theater.

    2.    When and where?

This event takes place at businesses along the Tennyson Street corridor between W 35th Ave and W 46th Ave, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29th, 2018. The culmination of the event is a 3 hour concert for ticket holders by 6 Million Dollar Band at the Oriental Theater, starting at 9:00 and going until midnight.

    3.    Who does Totally Tennyson benefit?

NW Denver Schools Public Schools with a permanent location within the historic boundaries of Northwest Denver: north of Colfax, east of Sheridan, south of 52nd and west of I-25. We are also focused on supporting schools that follow the North High School Feeder Pattern as our only traditional, public high school in NW Denver.

    4.    How do these schools get to participate?

All schools were sent an informational letter inviting them to be a part of Totally Tennyson.  Volunteers from each school are required to help at event. Proceeds from the ticket sales go to the schools.  If you are not affiliated with a school, pick one!

    5.    How many people do you expect to attend?

In 2013, we sold over 1650 tickets. In 2014 we sold 2,000 tickets. In 2015 we sold 2,200 tickets.

    6.    Should I wear a costume?

Like, fer sure! There will be a costume contest at the Oriental Theater with great prizes awarded, and besides that, it's just plain fun. Costumes are optional, but over 80% of attendees come in full 80s' gear. This year we can't wait to see costumes from the 1990s and 2000s, too.  It's throwback time!

    7.    What can businesses and sponsors expect?

Great visibility and marketing opportunities for their business and show of support for both the schools and the communities where they are located. Destination businesses give out tastes of a drink and offer specials to Totally Tennyson guests. They are also encouraged to give out return visit coupons. Sponsors are encouraged to offer special offers and do give-aways at Totally Tennyson in order to promote their business. Many guests report visiting a business on Tennyson Street for the first time during our event. Many more go back throughout the year and support this vibrant and unique area.
